Informational voice assistants:

When a customer visits a website, they often need help with the information related to the company and there are voice assistants available to help them with that. From greeting the site visitors to answering all of their questions and guiding them through the steps of the shopping are done by these voice assistants.

In-App voice assistants:

There are several apps like fitness ones or games or some meditating apps that often have in-build voice assistants that guide the users through all of the necessary steps of using the app and also provide services like motivating speeches or instructions. Imagine if you are trying to meditate and cannot concentrate, the in-build voice assistant of your meditating app will read something motivational or tell something meaningful or do some chanting to help you concentrate.

Rule-Based Bots

These bots are frequently used to fulfill intents that fall within a small scope of requirements, for example, “How can I retrieve my password?”. This question doesn’t need a complex algorithm to provide an answer and can be scripted in the back-end

However, the design process can be fairly complex when it involves a fair amount of analysis and producing dialog flows (or conversation paths). Once you’ve built a dialog flow, you can validate it by filling out the elements with examples before testing the flow with users.

User-Generated VUIs

Most successful digital services you can think of are made of user-generated content. Medium, for example, completely consists of user-generated content. This is merely a prediction, but VUI platforms could be provided to enable users to integrate their voices as well. In other words, building VUI applications with user-generated content using the author’s voice. For example, a teacher putting complex material on a voice application with the added benefits of finding out which questions students struggle with (through analytics) and saving time by providing answers through voice rather than typing. If we think multimodal, visuals, such as sketches, could be added as well.
