Google Meet Introduces Emoji Reactions and A 360-Degree Background to Android Devices
Google meet is introducing emoji reactions which will allow participants to send reactions to colleagues while on calls. The reactions, according to The Verge, will float up the left side of the screen and will burst if multiple people use the same ones.
The small emoji badges will also allow users to see which participants reacted. To begin, the tech giant is introducing new emojis such as the heart, party popper, thumbs-up, clap, joy, thinking, astonished, cry, and thumbs-down. Google Meet web, iOS devices, and Meet hardware devices all support the feature. It will be available in the coming weeks on Android devices.
In addition to that, Google is also introducing 360-degree backgrounds that will move as you rotate the camera in the Meet mobile app. In the coming weeks, the feature will be available on both Android and iOS devices. It will initially have a beach-themed background.
Google Meet will reportedly be updated on Android and iOS devices to support immersive 360-degree backgrounds. According to a report, the feature will be available in the future, with background options including a beach, oasis, sky city, and mountain temple. In addition, the company has announced that it will add support for new emoji reactions to the in-meeting experience. According to Google, these emojis will allow users to express themselves during meetings.
According to a 9-to5 Google report, Google Meet will soon include 360-degree backgrounds that move with the user. The feature will function by using the smartphone’s gyroscope or orientation data. The upcoming background features will be videos that move independently of the 360-degree motion and will include background themes such as a beach, oasis, sky city, or mountain temple.
Google Meet already includes static wallpapers, blur effects, video and moving backgrounds, styles (such as monochrome and sepia), and face filters.
